In recent months our team has been developing updates to our Flood History website. Initially developed to support a Water Engineering and Management (WEM) package tender, it needed to capture and display historic flood data on an easy-to-use map.

Complex Calculation and Validation Library (CCVL)

JBA’s highly successful CIV/065 Earthwork Asset Management System, in operation within Network Rail for 14 years, is due to be migrated to the client’s new corporate asset management system CSAMS, under the £325m ORBIS programme. JBA has been heavily involved in advising the earthworks system migration.

Environment Agency's - Exercise Occam’s Razor

With the flood events of winter 2015 still fresh in everyone’s minds, we are supporting the Environment Agency (EA) to implement Exercise Occam’s Razor, which will test operational communication between flood forecasting and flood warning duty officers.

NCE100 Awards - Technology Champion

On the 11th of May we were awarded Technology Champion at the New Civil Engineers 100 Companies of the Year ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. We also came a fantastic 9th out of 100 UK & International engineering companies and were shortlisted for the International Impact and Talent Champion awards.

Team LIVE win #Floodhack

Congratulations are in order for Team LIVE (Logistics and Infrastructure for Visual Evaluation) who took first place at this year’s #Floodhack at the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The team, which included 3 members from JBA Software, won the judges’ approval with their data manipulation tool to inform emergency response using GloFAS outputs.
